“Intersection” – Exhibition, MCBW 2018
I was showing my work during Munich Creative Business Week 2018.
“INTERSECTION – OBJECTS BETWEEN DESIGN, ART AND CRAFT”
Intersection – a place or area where two or more things meet, overlapp or cross each other
My work is concerned with the topic of „Intersection“ on several levels. On the one hand my formal and aesthetic language addresses the intersection of lines and the overlaping of shapes.
On the other hand my objects merge aspects of the disciplines design, craft and art. Accordingly, my making process is characterised by both elaborate craft
techniques as well as industrial methods of production. At the same time, the exploration of surface qualities and the direct contact with materials – the experimenting, feeling, forming and working with my hands – play an essential role. And last but not least, also conceptually my objects delve into topics such as intersection, clustering and the notion of a sense of place and belonging. The results are objects that are situated at the intersection between functional design and sculpture.
I was very excited to find out that two images of my work were selected for the big street posters which were placed all over Munich.
