“Cohesion No. 2” is part of a series of modular platter objects. The term cohesion has its origins in the latin word cohaerere and means “stick or stay together”. In chemistry cohesive attraction describes the property of molecules sticking together, being mutually attractive. When discussing social groups, a state of cohesion is achieved when individual group members bond with the group as a whole. The object explores the notion of “we-ness,” or the sense of belonging. It invites to engage with composition and space, and to become playful with tactile modular elements.
