“Inside Out No. 3″ is part of a series of bowls/lidded container objects which explore positive and negative space. The inner shape of the bowl is covered with a thin skin–like layer of material which becomes a lid when turned around. This “skin” becomes a playful and tactile element which turns the inside shape into an outside shape and thereby adds another perspective to the viewers perception. The lid of “Inside Out No. 3″ is formed by modeling and pressing felt into the bowl shape and hardening it by applying many of layers of Lacquer.
