SEDA – inspired by the sensual aesthetics of flowing fabric and by the notion of freezing a moment in time. The limited edition series of vases and candle holders are traditionally crafted in fine bone china, which is the most precious type of porcelain. Bone china, originally invented in England, contains bone ash to accomplish its high levels of whiteness and translucency. SEDA is the Spanish word for silk. SEDA’s surfaces are kept unglazed and are smoothly hand polished to achieve highly tactile surface qualities, which compliment the associated aesthetics of silk. SEDA was selected by ART AUREA for their Design & Crafts Collection 2011.
